Today we had our first 'normal' Chapel in nine months - it was wonderful to gather in person again!

We are pleased to welcome Dr Amanda George to Columba College as our new librarian.

Over the recent holidays Year 12 Painting and Design student Anise Maclean had success in an art competition organised by the Peace Club at Otago University.

To round off the excitement of Book Week in Term 2, we will be holding a 12-hour Reading Marathon in the Library for Years 7-13. Express interest now!

Our annual school cross country is fast approaching, next Tuesday, 10th May, at Bishopscourt. Fingers crossed for beautiful sunshine, however, a decision will be made at 7.15am to cancel if need be. If the weather is not favourable, students will attend school as normal and the postponement date will be Thursday 12th May.

Our student-teacher, Mrs Nourah Ross, treated the administration staff to a beautiful plate of handmade Kahk sugar cookies in celebration of Eid-al-Fitr.

On the 11th of March, I participated in a zoom meeting with 30 other students from around New Zealand. This was as a replacement for the World Vision Senior Scholarship Summit that I was awarded last year. I'm thankful it was moved online as I had Covid at the time!

The Ministry of Education has called a Teacher Only Day on Friday, 13th May. There will be no Year 7-13 classes at Columba College this day.
