We had fantastic weather for our Zones Winter Tournament on Tuesday. Soccer and netball teams from Years 5 to 8 competed against other local schools over the morning.

At least once a term we gather together the students that use the bike track to discuss the bike track and any amendments to the rules that need to be made to ensure everyone's enjoyment and safety.

We were very privileged to send 2 teams from Diamond Harbour School to the regional Root to Tip Competition last Friday. Both teams had to create 2 vegetarian dishes using all parts of locally sourced, seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Offers of help wanted to run the Diamond Harbour School food stall at this year's Motukarara Fireworks Display on November the 9th, 2019. It needs at least 4 parents to run it and child helpers are encouraged - it can be part of their giving to others!

This term the fabulous Year 5’s will be cooking Healthy Lunches on Fridays. They have been researching nutritious winter warmers and have developed this menu for the rest of the term:

There is a new plant stall at the right hand side of the school as you enter through the main entrance. We have tomatoes (cherry yellow and red), salad veges, basil, succulents, chillis, cucumbers, eggplant and a few perennials.

Te Kōhanga students and teachers would like to extend a huge thank you to the businesses and families involved in creating our wonderful, new, accessible sandpit. We were very lucky to have an army of willing helpers on both working bee weekends, to construct and then fill the sandpit, despite the inclement weather.
