To have a whole school so silent while its students and staff stand in quiet contemplation, is truly moving.

Our thespians achieved great success at yesterday's University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival.

A small but strong King's Athletics team travelled to Christchurch for the 2021 South Island Athletics Championships, and with great effort and impressive skill achieved a variety of excellent performances and a healthy stash of medals.

In Week 11 the final Athletics event was held on Monday at lunchtime; the great 3000m. The boys ran seven and a half laps around Tonga Park on a cold cold day as supporters cheered for runners from their Houses.

The idea of reflecting at the end of each day on what we do or do not do is an ancient practice and one supported by research on how to develop good habits in life.

On the 9th of April the two Year 13 Physical Education classes went River Rafting on the Taieri as part of their Leadership Assessment. The students were put through a number of different challenges throughout the day to focus on problem solving, team work and communication.

The Library has been a hive of activity, this term, with the happy buzz of boys enjoying books, games and lively banter. Themed competitions have been very popular and 53 “treats” have been awarded for Random Acts of Reading.

Kohl Goodfellow has a new ‘Braille Music Support’ resource which allows him to begin the process of learning to read music.

The PTSA are having a Sausage Sizzle at Mitre 10 this Saturday April 17th from 10am to 4pm. Delicious peppery sausages provided by Silverfern Farms - can't wait to see you all there!

We are having a Pasifika Fono for our students and their families in the PAC on Wednesday the 19th May from 5-7pm.
