Our Student Sports Council have organised an Interhouse Dodgeball Competition. Houses are competing on Friday lunchtimes in the Gym, and so far there is a lot of enthusiastic fun-filled support. 

A large group of students competed in the Otago Secondary Schools Sheila Winn Shakespeare Festival in the last week of term. They held a dress rehearsal on Monday 30 March in Manawa Toi Whakaari in front of a large and appreciative audience.

After Jacobi Kohu-Morris won the Otago-Southland final of the RSA Speech competition, in Gore in February, he presented his speech at Government House in Wellington on March 12. 

Congratulations to Fraser Braid Year 11 and Caitlyn Kilner Year 12 who won the Silver Fleet section of the Sailing Competition in March. They had 18 races over 4 days with strong competition from other schools.

A group of international students enjoyed their 3-day tramp on Stewart Island in March, with Dr Murray Thompson, Matua Tip Winiata and ex-student and outdoor adventurer, Rebecca Vella-King.

Congratulations to Louis Grace, Year 12 who was the winner of the 2015 Logan Park Student ID Card Design competition. 

In December 2014 I went on a three week 'Mind, Body and Soul' Outward Bound course. 

We were delighted to have Jimmy Robinson and Jamie Moore as our Fortune Ambassadors for Logan Park High School for 2015. 

As part of our Knife Skills Unit, Year 12 and 13 Hospitality students worked with Otago Polytechnic Lecturer Tony Hepstinstall to hone their skills.

It was the start of Term 2, 2014 when our pocket bike kit finally arrived, but unfortunately there were no instructions. Therefore we were two men on a mission to fully design and build the best (and only) bike ever created (in the LPHS metal workshop). 

Hana Fahy and I took 64 students on a Music Camp at Tirohanga on the weekend of 6-8 March. 

108 students have enrolled and commenced their course of lessons in a musical instrument for this year. That’s a significant percentage of the overall school roll, and a smart move on the part of the students and their parents. The research continues to grow around the immense benefits of music education which are proven to include improvement in academic learning, social adeptness and physical and mental wellbeing.

Jacobi Kohu-Morris (Yr 13) and Grant McNaughton (Yr 12) were first and second respectively in the Otago final of the Race Unity Speech competition held on March 26. St Hilda's came third.

Film Club tutor, Craig Storey held a workshop on Saturday 28 March for students keen to enter the Rialto Channel 48 Hours Film competition in May.

Tash Gosling and Brendan Kearns were selected as our Edge interns for 2015. The year long commitment gave Tash and Brendan valuable industry knowledge and experience.

On Wednesday March 25, Logan Park took on the atmosphere of a jazz club as staff, students and friends paid tribute to Calder Prescott, one of our longest serving music teachers. 

On Monday the 23rd of March the Senior A Girls volleyball team left for Christchurch to compete in the Satellite Volleyball Championship (SVC) tournament. 

On Tuesday 24 March we celebrated the rich cultural diversity at Logan Park.

Lots has been happening across all sporting codes, but special recent highlights include Basketball, Football and Sailing performances.

120 student delegates from Otago and Southland schools met March 13-15th at Otago University to debate global issues of poverty, hunger, female empowerment and child mortality.

On Tuesday 10 March, we enjoyed a lunchtime performance from a Japanese Drumming Ensemble, "O-Taiko."  

Our LPHS 1 team (Jacobi Kohu-Morris Y13, Grant McNaughton Y12 and Meran Campbell-Hood Y13) won the annual Russell McVeagh Debating Competition for the Otago-Southland region.   The event was held on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th of March.  5 of the top 12 awards went to Logan Park speakers. 

Year 13 students appreciated hearing about the opportunities at Otago University on Friday 6 March.
