LEVEL 3 SCHOOL

by Sara Baker

The lucky children who have attended school in level 3 have been busy with a variety of activities and learning. Today, as part of the Year 3 learning, Piper and her two artistic assistants, Stella and Orla, designed, built and decorated a 3D house, complete with shade cloth, a sparkly pool, grass, a patio and people! They had a great time painting! Riley decided to write an exciting story on her chromebook, and Alexander was busy too. Then we had the chance to hear Mrs Hewitt read 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' over zoom.

Year 2 Literacy Week Report

by Paula Snowball

The Year 2 team had a combined Zoom meeting on Wednesday as part of our Literacy Week. We came dressed as a book character. There were pirates, witches, princesses, Harry Potter, Star Wars characters, bees, unicorns, mermaids, dogs, Batman, Cat in the Hat, Cookie Monster, aliens, to name a few. We joined in a dance then broke off into breakout rooms to share our book and character. We then came back together and Mrs Cattell read us an awesome Dr Seuss book which had some great messages in it. To finish off we had a couple more songs and dances. It was so much fun seeing our friends across the year group. Thank you to everyone who joined us and for the great effort you went to in dressing up.

Book Review by Reid

Reid has been "hooking into a good book" this lockdown: Tiny Timmy by Tim Cahill. Tiny Timmy is based on the author Tim Cahill's journey as a footballer. His goal is to help kids to read and inspire them to follow their dreams. You can read Reid's book review above and see a picture of Reid dressed up as Tiny Timmy for our recent school dress-up day.

Room 14 Book Character Zoom

by Imogen Williams

Room 14 has been working very hard over lockdown and were very excited at the prospect of a book character zoom! After days of secrecy about what we were going to dress up as, the big day finally arrived. We had Mermaids, Fairies, Elsa's, Spidermen, a dolphin, a witch and a teenage mutant ninja turtle! We took turns asking each other why they were our favourite books and characters. I think that Room 14 is full of very knowledgeable and excellent thinkers. Ka pai Room 14!

Room 10 Report

by Charlotte Barrance

Literacy week kicked off to a great start in Room 10 on Monday - We had Monday Funday and we all talked about our favourite books on a shared class zoom and had a literacy quiz. Some of the questions included "What is Winnie the Pook's favourite game?" and "What creatures are the Wilburforces in Under the Mountain?" Tricky questions but some students managed to get most of them right!
