Principal’s Message

by Sue Cattell

Kia ora koutou katoa. I hope you all enjoyed the Easter weekend and were able to spend time with family and friends. I know I did! The Scholastic Book Fair was delivered yesterday and is now set up in Room 4 and open for business. Please come in before or after school from today through to Wednesday. It will also be open right through the Parent/Teacher meeting afternoon on Wednesday (from 12.30 – 7.00pm). The profits from any books you buy come straight to the school and are used by our Librarian to purchase new books for the Library. Over the past few years this book fair has been really successful and last year we earned $2800 for our Library. Please do come and buy those holiday books for your children to read!

Crossing Safety

by Sara Baker

It is very noticeable that many of our students who cross Shakespeare Road using the pedestrian crossing trust the green man with their lives! They tend to hear the crossing signal, see the green man, and just head straight out into the road. Please take the time to teach your children that they still need to check that cars have stopped before they walk! A green man is no guarantee of safety to our most precious children. Teach children to stop, check and then walk.
