This week we discuss the parking campaign initiative, share details about the upcoming footpath repairs, ask for your help in letting us know what your child will be doing while the teachers are at their NZEI union meeting, share the details of our upcoming Whanau Conferences (in the beginning of Term 3), continue to promote our Truffle Fundraiser and celebrate the success of our Matariki celebrations.

Having won our SE Zone Tournament, we have now qualified to compete at the Qualification/ Canterbury Rippa-Rugby Tournament. Thank you to all of the parents and whanau who either helped with transport or those who supported on the sidelines. You’re positive comments were well received. I am already looking forward to doing it all again in a couple of weeks time!

Room 4 have been showing many parts of our learner profile and different attitudes during our gymnastics sessions. The students have shown enthusiasm, respect and confidence and have been great risk takers as they attempt some very challenging tasks.

As part of our school Matariki celebration Room 4 designed, created and flew kites with their Room 12 buddies. This idea came from a response to the book, "The Seven Kites of Matariki" by Calico McClintock and Dominique Ford. Look at our fabulous creations!

Room 1 and their Room 8 buddies worked together to write a poem about Matariki. They are proud of their results.

16 students representing each of the kura within Aupaki Kāhui Ako met last week at Linwood College. Amongst them were two Year 10 students from Linwood College who added another perspective to our discussions.

The Mt Pleasant teachers are always keen to learn new skills. On Tuesday afternoon we attended a painting workshop with local artist, Brenda Knight.

It’s that time of the year…winter sport.... in preparation for the SE Zone Winter Tournament we are keen to enter as many teams as possible across the four sport options: ⚽ football 🏑 hockey 🏀 netball and 🏈 rugby. For us to do this, we need parents to help manage (and possibly coach) these teams alongside staff.
