Shannon King - April 14, 2020
Welcome to Term 2! It will be looking a bit different (or a lot different). We have put together a range of at home distance learning, including Zoom meetings and slideshows with learning activities. All of these are 100% optional. We understand that everyone is in a very different situation and not everyone will be able to access these activities. Feel free to do as much or as little as suits you and your family and contact us if you need anything. The Hub 2 email is hub2@oaklands.school.nz
Your child will have a scheduled Zoom meeting with a Hub teacher each day of the week (Wednesday - Friday this week, Monday - Friday from next week on) and the rest of their pastoral care class. These will start at 9:10am and will last approximately until 10:00am.
At the end of last term we sent out how to access your child's school Gmail account. Their email will be:
first name.last name@oaklands.school.nz
(ie. shannon.king@oaklands.school.nz)
and the initial password will be
Oaklands2020
(you will be prompted to change this upon login for the first time).
For the rest of the week we have created a slideshow with a variety of Reading, Writing, Handwriting and Maths activities, as well as optional additional activities to work on throughout the week.

Teachers will check their emails between 8.30-9am each day and at the end of the school day. Any emails after 5pm will be responded to the following morning. We need to ensure our teachers and their families are supported and have family time during the lockdown. We appreciate your support with this.
