Writing
This week classes have been doing a variety of things for writing. Some children have been writing about what they learnt about worms from their visit to the Worm Farm. Other children wrote instructions about how to make a worm farm based on their experiences there.
Reading
Running records have almost been completed in the hub so there may be a shuffle of children between groups and / or teachers depending on results. Please feel free to contact the teacher your child reads with if you have any questions or just want to have a chat about how they are doing.
Maths
It has been great to see children enjoying their maths. This week in 2PM some children have been choosing to show off their maths skills and what they have been learning in class . See pictures below for what some children have been learning about.
Well done to Yujin, Charlotte and Dylan and for winning their Maths Whizz certificates this week. 2AH leads the total number of progressions made this week for all children in the class , followed closely by 2PM and 2JO. Keep up the good work children and maybe it will be YOU winning a certificate next week.
Inquiry
We are continuing to learn about sustainability this week. Classes are covering this is a range of different ways. Many children are learning about how rubbish is hurting our oceans and the animals that live in it.
CARE Certificates
Well done to all the children that received a CARE Certificate today.
Dance Group
Congratulations to all the Year 2 Blue Hub children that performed in the Kakano Assembly on Monday. They were amazing. Miss Frampton was amazed at the level of commitment they showed to attend all the practises and do a wonderful job on stage on Monday.
Fitness
Each hub is working on their own fitness goals. For fitness in 2PM children have been working on achieving personal bests in certain areas. Some children have been working on their throwing and catching skills using a Crazy Catch net. Other children have been working on their basketball shooting technique as they see how many shots they can make in a set time. Other children have been working on improving their balance on stilts or seeing how many consecutive skips they can perform.
