Alex HORN

Two short weeks added up to a single week of awesome learning.

Reading

This week and last week we have been doing Running Records, so our regular programme has been a little disjointed. However it does mean we will be able to do some regrouping in Term 2 with a new load of data to help us plan a targeted and supportive learning programme.

Writing

In Writing we are continuing to use our writing highlighter strips and goals to influence our writing learning.

Some of the goals include surface features such as "I can start a sentence with a capital" or "I can end a sentence with a full stop." but also have deeper features goals such as "I can use sequencing words like first, next, then, last" and "I can use describing words to give more detail"

We also have been using our hooks to inspire our writing.

Miss O'Loughin's class have began learning about their next fairy tale.

Mr Morehu's class have been looking at wordless picture board chalk.

Mr Horn's class we excavated treasures from a block of ice .

Multicultural Day

Last Wednesday was Multicultural Day, we had a lot of fun learning about different cultures. Check out the Multicultural Day post for more information.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is not closed until Summer returns at the end of the year.

Good-Bye Tiffany

Tiffany has moved on from Oaklands School. We will miss her but wish her all the best.
