Coming up before the end of the term
15 - 19 June (This week): Plastic free lunch week. We ask all students to pack a lunch that has no single use plastic in it (chip packets, gladwrap, yoghurt pottles etc). Hubs will keep a record of how many students bring plastic free lunches and we will announce the best hub on Friday. Our goal is to have at least 80% of our students bringing a plastic free lunch. Please help us to make a difference in the world.
Friday 19 June: We will have a mufti day to raise money to purchase more rubbish free lunchboxes. Students can wear something with an environmental theme (tops with flowers, trees, animals, sea life etc or blue/ green colours). To wear mufti students must be wearing something related to the theme and they need to bring a gold coin. On Friday we will also be doing a pavement art project to acknowledge World Oceans day.
First Friday of Term 3: We will be holding a plastic toy swap in the hall. Over the holidays students can clear out any unwanted toys, bring them to school and swap them for another toy. This stops plastic toys from ending up in the rubbish dump where they won't break down.
