Alex HORN

A look back at the ninth week of the first term.

Writing

This week we made scones and wrote about them. We used a simple recipe and the oven in the staffroom to make them.

Mr Horn's Pea and Tomato group wrote four sentence stories about this. The first sentece had to contain "When" "Who" and "What did we do". The second sentence needed to be "What else happened". The third sentence was "How did we feel" "Why did we feel that way?". The fourth sentence was a wondering where we ask the reader a question.

Library

We have got the class library up and running on Fridays. We have four massive tubs of library books for the class to browse through. They can choose two of these books to issue out and take home for the week.

The books need to be returned each Friday so new books can be issued.

CARE

We have had a lot of CARE Certificates going out lately, we hand these out at Whanau Hui on a Friday morning.

Health: Keeping Ourselves Safe

Constable Brad came and worked with 2AH and 2EM on Thursday. He taught as all about tricks and secrets. He will be coming to see 2EC and 2KV next week.

Art: Stained Glass Windows

Our Stained Glass Window art is done and up on the windows throughout the Hub, we are all very proud of them and the resilience we showed to get them finished.

Values: Classroom

Our values focus the last couple of weeks has been around classroom. Today with the wet weather and extra coats we had a special focus on keeping our cloakbay tidy. Check out the photos of our coats behind our zipped up bags, with all our belonging carefully put away!
