Samantha Doig - April 23, 2020
At Alert Level 3, the Government advises only students who are not able to continue learning from home should return to schools after they reopen from Wednesday 29th April. You can extend your bubble with other family members to help with child care.
It is important to note, children returning to school will be following the same programme as those learning from home. Home learning resources will continue to be available for your child on their Hub Blog.
Some staff may not be able to be on site and will continue to work from home. Please remember to complete the survey to help us with our planning.

For those students returning to school, there will be new health measures in place to keep them safe:
Students will be required to stay 2 metres away from each other and teachers during the school day.
Gates will be opened at 8.45am to support social distancing.
Students are to go straight to their allocated hub.
Parents are not permitted on the school grounds or in the classrooms or office space during Alert Level 3.
The teachers will bring students to the entrances after school.
To minimise the number of children we will stagger the finish time. Kakano students will finish school at 2.45pm and parents can pick them up at the school gates.
For families with Kakano and Kauri students the Kauri students will be able to leave at 2.45pm with their younger sibling.
Students are to bring:
A named water bottle (drinking fountains will not be available)
A box of tissues
Their own named lunch box
Must wear correct school uniform
The students will have shortened break times and will not be able to use the playground, any equipment or any other sports gear to ensure that social distancing is observed and there is no sharing of equipment.
All students attending must have a clean bill of health-no colds, runny noses, coughs temperatures, sneezes etc.
The office will be closed and the sick bay will not be open during Level 3. Any child who becomes sick will require an adult to come and get them.
Next week, Monday is a public holiday due to ANZAC day being observed and Tuesday is a Teacher Only Day - there will be no distance learning on these two days.
Here is the link to the Hub 2 Slideshow- the new slides commence from Wednesday 29th April - Friday 1st May.
Seesaw
We would love to have the children share some of their work on Seesaw. On the learning slides, we have highlighted activities that can be uploaded each day to seesaw. We have easy to follow instructions on our slideshow and below to help you navigate seesaw.
Zoom Whānau Huis
The children are really enjoying seeing their peers in our Zoom Whānau Huis and we would like to continue that. If your child is physically at school.
Reading Logs
We can see that so many of you have been doing lots and lots of reading which is so great! If you have completed your Reading Log 0-50, send us a picture through the hub email and we can award you with a 50 night bookmark during the Zoom Whānau Huis.
Check out the photo gallery to see what the students of Hub 2 have been doing during isolation. Some awesome projects team Ka Pai!
Have an awesome long weekend!
Take care, stay safe, be kind to your parents and your siblings.
See you all on Wednesday at your Zoom Whānau Hui - 9:10am - Look out for the invite from your teacher!
