The end of year is fast approaching and our staff are completing a number of end of year tasks to ensure there is a smooth transition from 2016 to 2017.

On Friday 2 December Oaklands School presented our annual school gala and celebration of learning.

Our staff have been spending many hours completing classes and programmes for 2017.  Letters will be going  home today.

Thank you everyone for the feedback on what a great job our staff did last week.  We know that during any emergency event it is a difficult time for everyone.  Below is a letter from Peter Stills, Senior Sergeant, Community Services Manager, New Zealand Police.

We would like to invite you to our volunteer morning tea on Tuesday  at 11am.  This is to acknowledge and thank you for all your support and help during the year as a parent of Oaklands School.

I am the Deputy Principal at Oaklands School and really enjoy my role in helping to deliver quality learning programmes and lead change at Oaklands School. When I am not at school I enjoy renovating my home in Diamond Harbour, developing our very hilly garden and spending time with my family, especially my two lovely grandchildren

Any child leaving or arriving at school between 9am and 3pm must be signed out at the office.

Dates for your diary.

We have itinerant music teachers who come into our school each week and offer music lessons.

A reminder that students cannot be on the school grounds before 8.30am in the mornings.

With the large number of students unwell it is really important that you let the office know if your child will not be at school.

In Terms 1 and 4, all students must wear a hat when they are outdoors.

The purpose of our complaints policy is to provide clear guidelines for the school community in raising and resolving concerns and complaints.

Please respect our NO GO zones and times and be considerate of other students and their families.
