Registrations for the Hostel 150th Reunion are now open.

While writing this in the Covid-19 alert 4 lock down we can now all only reflect on what normal was, what the current normal is & what the normal will be going forward once we come out the other end.

Prof Fred Fastier celebrated his 100th Birthday on Friday 13 March. Fred is very much an Otago boy and was schooled at Otago Boys' High School from 1932-36.

This annual event was rekindled in 2018 after a hiatus of several years.

This week's senior assembly was focused on recognising academic excellence and awarding badges and ties to the 2020 Prefects.

This week at senior assembly Nicki Patterson, the Regional Sports Director at the Otago Secondary Schools Sports Association presented Ken Rust with a Service to School Sport Award on behalf of New Zealand Secondary Schools Sports. Below is Nicky Patterson's address.

On Tuesday 28 January 2020 the Otago Boys’ High School 1st XI played their first traditional fixture of the year against an invitational Old Boy’s XI in a 40 Over fixture on Littlebourne.

The Lodge has been well used over the break and is ready for the first of the Year 10 camps next week.

On Saturday 15 February 2020 an OBHS Old Boys team entered the annual Spartan’s 10 rugby tournament held at Green Island Rugby Club. This year’s tournament was raising money for the ‘Through the Other Side Suicide Awareness Trust’. The 2020 OBHS Old Boys team was captain by Ben Miller and also included fellow Otago Representatives Slade McDowell and Jonah Aoina.

The year has started well. The weather has improved, our boys are smiling, and we are down to business in our classrooms.

My name is Parker ‘Aluesi and I am a Year 13 student at Otago Boys’ High School. I play golf for the Otago Boys’ Golf Team which I am also captain for. Recently I got to go and play in the Inaugural All Abilities Championship.

On the 29th of November, 22 Year 12 boys had the privilege to travel up the Matukituki Valley to spend seven days at the school’s lodge to both develop and grow as leaders.

On Sunday and Monday the first summer interschool of the season was held.

The annual summer interschool fixture between Otago Boys' and Waitaki Boys' was held on Tuesday.

The summer interschool fixture between Otago Boys' and Christ's College has held in Christchurch earlier this week.

The interschool fixture between Otago Boys' and Southland Boys' was held in Invercargill at the beginning of this week.

Bruce Turnbull personified the traditional “southern man”, with a love of the great outdoors, dogs, hunting and fishing.

We would like to acknowledge the recent passing of the following Old Boys' of the school. We will remember them.
