On Thursday evening for the second year in a row, Otago Boys' and Otago Girls' ran a quiz night. This year the chosen charity was the Otago Community Hospice.

Over the last few days all students have been involved in some careers based activities.

Senior Assembly this week welcomed the Educational Review Officers with a mihi whakatau. Our whānau group performed with credit and the ceremony was enjoyed by all. We look forward to the ERO appraisal of our school to ensure we maintain the high standards we expect from our young men.

The boys have been spending plenty of time before school, at lunch, and after school in preparation for The Big Sing next week.

Year 12 student Blake McLennan is participating in the Gateway programme and is hosted by Calder Motors.

Year 13 student Hadley Johnston is making a sauna for his family's new home in Wanaka.

In the weekend between the 27 and 29th of May, Alex Grant and I competed in the Green Island Junior Vocal Competitions.

Dunedin loves a good snow day. With this in mind the current Library display uses Shakespeare's Richard III to remind people that the coldest day can be made enjoyable by one basking in the warm glow of a good book. A dusting of snowflakes covers this idea with the promise of a snow day, hopefully Monday, when we can all stay in bed and read!  

Some boys play rugby and others officiate, Thomas and Tate do both!

The Otago Secondary Schools Cross Country was held at the Kaikorai Valley course on June 2.

Otago Boys' will host the annual winter interschool fixture with Christ's College on Tuesday 14th June.

Reports for students in years 9 and 10 were issued on Thursday at form time. Parents of hostel students will receive their sons report via post.  

As much as possible, could boys and parents please make all medical, (off site) physio, dentist and driving lesson appointments for students out of school time. These one off, but sometimes frequent absences during the year can have a considerable impact on student learning. Your support is appreciated.
