Term 4, Week 7

Kererū Kaitiaki Group

The Kererū Kaitiaki group has been at it again with a few new faces in the mix!
by Connie Palmer

Throughout the year the Kaitiaki group has been looking after some native plants, getting them ready to plant up around the school and in the Red Zone by being a part of the Eco Action Nursery. This week some members of Kererū and Pukeko have made a start at planting some lovely Harakeke, Kowhai, Manatu, Mingimingi and Tarata around the school, and they’re looking fabulous.

Alongside this, the Kōtuku members of our Kaitiaki group have been running a school wide Radish growing competition. They have been teaching our younger tamariki how to plant radish seeds, and the tips and tricks to growing the biggest radish. We’re looking forward to seeing how they come out!
