Our Year 10 students spent a special day out at Ōtākou marae this week, after the cancellation of their trip last year due to Covid. The students were hosted by Whaea Megan Pōtiki and Kiringāua Cassidy and also taught by some of our ex-girls and current senior students. The students learnt about some of the history of the area as well as waiata and haka. Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou!

The annual Year 13 Geography and Tourism trip to Queenstown took place at the start of Term 3.

The Showcase of Dance is back! It is always a special night for the Queen’s Dance community to showcase their talents.

This week a group of Queen’s students went to the First Annual Politics Day School Programme at the University of Otago.

While taking part in Gateway this year, I was given the opportunity to go out on a work experience placement.

2022 is shaping up to be a very successful year for Hip Hop at Queen’s. All three crews recently competed in the Otago/Southland NZ Schools Hip Hop competition.

Over the coming weeks all students in Years 10 -12 will be selecting the subjects they wish to study in their course for 2023. Year 9 students select their subjects for the coming year early in Term 4.

Nominations are open for the election of five parent representatives to our school Board of Trustees. Nominations close Wednesday 17 August.

Friday 26 August - NCEA Accord Day

It is time to return any cups or trophies that you received at last year's Sports and Cultural Blues, Senior Prizegiving and Junior Prizegiving. Please return them to the school office ASAP.

On Saturday 13th August 2022 this will be at the Moana Pool in Dunedin. This event is free to attend but an RSVP is needed.
