KORERO FROM MIRANDA
Kia ora Rototuna e te Whānau,
This is our last eNewsletter for Term 2. We have had a big term, completing learning and assessments from the first half of the year, moving into Semester 2 programmes and looking for opportunities to bring our school community together, for example our Matariki celebrations two weeks ago. Thank you all for the continued support and encouragement you give to your students and to our school.
One of our school values is Ako meaning to both teach and learn. Ako is based on the principle of reciprocity and recognises that both teachers and learners bring knowledge that can deepen learning experiences. Ako ensures that power is shared in learning. Our young people are demonstrating the value of Ako by taking an active role teaching and learning in our school. From our Manukura (Head students) planning learning events for Whānau with Kaihautū (Iwi Leaders), to our rugby teams delivering haka lessons, our young people are stepping up and leading learning with our teachers. I have included some photos that celebrate examples of this work. In this newsletter you will also find out more about some exciting developments in Puna Wānanga (Impact Projects) and how our students are taking their learning to the community and beyond!
In the meantime, I hope you and your families have a good Term 2 break. Best wishes and stay safe
Ngā mihi,
Miranda
