Pink Ribbon Walk

Breast Cancer Walk  by Te Kura o Kirikiri Tatangi Seatoun School

A group of past and present Seatoun students and families did a Pink Ribbon walk to raise money for Breast Cancer patients. We decided to do this walk in honour of past Seatoun school family member Jayne Tranter, a great family friend of ours who recently passed away from breast cancer. We all walked 5 km around Oriental Bay in all of our pink outfits to get into the spirit of it, including pink tutus and some people even sprayed their hair pink. The adults wore a pink shirt that said ‘Jayne’s fab boobies’ in honour of her. Once you reached the finish line you got some free things. For example you got free sausages, sparkling water, bags with cookies and a mini bag of Haribos lollies. This was a great walk and opportunity to raise money and we raised $1000 as a group and it was very fun, we hope to raise more money for this great cause! By donating, this gives the opportunity to research more and get the patients the treatment they need! If you would like to donate money to the breast cancer foundation you can click this link:
