We had an absolute blast at the Disco - such a great community event.

On Friday, 13th November, the Senior School held their annual Athletics Day. Greeted with hot weather, the students competed with sportsmanship, and individuals continued to improve on their personal best. The students demonstrated whanaungatanga, supporting and encouraging each other. After lunch, the top sprinting students were once again challenged to a relay against the teachers and eager parents. The teachers proved too speedy, winning the race, holding onto their unbeaten title. Thank you to all the parents who supported us on the day!

Congratulations to all the Year 5 students who were trained by Constable Tom and Constable Jasper from the New Zealand Police on Wednesday.

We had an awesome team represent Silverdale at round the bridges this year.

Calendar Art orders have arrived and were distributed to the children to bring home on Thursday, 19th November.

The lost property is kept in two large bins inside the foyer next to Room 6. It is displayed outside Mrs Curry's office on sunny days. All lost property will be sent to charity at the end of the term so please check the bin whenever you are in the school.

Our senior school students wanted our school environment to represent our community and values.

If you still have one of our school sports uniforms at home, can you please return it to us, washed and ready for reallocation, some time this week.

The Parent Teacher Group (PTG) is a group of parents and teachers that work to create fun events for the kids and fundraise for the school. We always welcome new members - we’d love to see some new faces at our meetings. If you can’t commit to meetings but would like to help out at events, please let us know. We especially need parents who can help out during the day occasionally.

Issues of language and culture and the fact that all around you are strangers, add to the stress and one can feel extremely lost! Shama Hamilton Ethnic Women's Centre Trust is an organisation run by ethnic women for ethnic women. It is a vibrant, sustainable and growing centre, which provides culturally appropriate support, advocacy and programmes to be a source of strength and empowerment for ethnic women.
