There was quite a crowd in support as we gathered to wish them God’s blessing on their future together. Thanks to all those who helped to make this a day to remember. There are some lovely photos of the happy couple in this week’s Connect email.
Our love and prayers to Greg and Angela Brown and family, following the death of Greg’s mother Thea on Thursday, aged 95. Thea’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 18th 1pm at St Barnabas.
Thank you to all those who will be helping with the service and hospitality afterwards— our team work and generous gifts of talent and time come to the fore as we share our joys and sorrows together.
A marathon effort indeed. Thank you to all who generously supported our marathon team a few weeks ago. We now have a final result and have fundraised $1874 from the marathon towards outreach and children and youth ministries. Well done to the marathon runners and walkers!
Ascensiontide: On Thursday we celebrated the Ascension of our Lord Jesus , 40 days after the resurrection, when Jesus moved beyond our space-time perception into God’s glorious presence. And yet Jesus ever lives to intercede for us, and promises to send the Holy Spirit to be with us and in us. In the 10 days between Ascension and Pentecost we are asked to pray for Christian unity, and also to pray “Thy Kingdom Come”, that the signs of God’s kingdom life and values would be seen on earth and shown forth in our lives. In our world’s current great need of healing and peace, especially in the land of the Holy One, let us pray, Come Holy Spirit.
Sunday 23rd May is our celebration of Pentecost—wear your flame colours!
