It feels like we’re now well into Christmas season! This past week alone I attended the final lunch of the Elmwood Trading Company Fellowship Lunch last Sunday, where we gave special thanks to May Carrell for organising these; lunch with the Children, Youth and Young Adults Ministry Action Team; and the final meeting for the year of LOGOs, the Lifestreams Oversight Group (with biscuits!).
When we survey:
On Wednesday, Jenny and I joined several other leaders of churches and Christian charities to hear the results of the Church Life and Faith in Belief surveys. As a parish, we participated in the first of those surveys and will share our results at a later date—and once we’ve had a chance to read them ourselves!
Celebrating 24/7 youth work at CBHS
I had the pleasure this week of having a tour of Christchurch Boys’ High School with Principal Nic Hill, who is a good friend of St Barnabas. Next year will mark 10 years of partnership between St Barnabas and CBHS in supporting 24/7 youth work there. Given the great feedback I heard from Nic and his colleagues, there is much to celebrate. I found it particularly special to take that tour as my grandfather is an old boy of CBHS.
Ordinations
Jo Cotton and I are on retreat from Monday-Wednesday next week in preparation for our forthcoming ordinations. Please do keep us in your prayers and we’d love you join us on Saturday 25 November at 10.30am at the Transitional Cathedral.
