Andrew and Yvette Butcher are delighted with the positive expressions of support from many parishioners and they look forward to joining us in February, with Andrew's role as Senior Associate Lay Minister. They will be here over the weekend of Dec 9-11 to see the Vicarage and look forward to meeting more of you on Sunday 11th December.
We warmly welcome the Revd Alexa Evenden to the staff team from now till February. Alexa is already fully involved taking services and in pastoral ministry—thank you, Alexa, for being willing to come alongside us at a busy time of year. We hope you enjoy your time with us.
Farewell: We farewell the Rev Sosaia & Sela Maka from our Tongan service as they return to Auckland, and thank them warmly for their fellowship alongside us over recent years.
Name Badges: A reminder that with new staff in the months ahead, it will be really helpful if you wear your name badges at services and on site. This helps newcomers to get to know us. If you need a new badge or two, please ask Marion at the parish office and we’ll be happy to provide them for you.
New Church Year—and New Service Times:
Next Sunday 27th November our new Church Year begins with Advent Sunday—and we will move to new service times as the Hall comes back into use.
8am as usual in Church.
9.00am moves back to 9.30a.m. in Church.
Lifestreams moves into the Hall at 10.00am
5pm as usual in Church.
7pm Antioch moves back into the Hall.
Thank you for your patience through this year as we have juggled multiple services and storage in the Church. Vestry enjoyed viewing the Hall on Wednesday, it is nearly finished and we look forward to using it soon, and enjoying our new kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Our St Barnabas Church is 96! Sunday is the 96th anniversary of our Church’s consecration, isn’t she looking lovely?! Arohanui, Rev Jenny.
