Project X is a fully cross-curricular programme of learning open to Year 11 and 12 students this year. In this course, students are empowered to make decisions about their learning and choose a topic of personal interest that can be assessed at NCEA Levels 1 and 2.

Lockdown edition. As the last newsletter was wrapped up we suddenly heard we were going into Level 4 lockdown. Slight disbelief as we left the Sports Office not knowing how long this would all take. So needless to say the world of sport as we know it at SMC all came to a grinding halt.

Since the pandemic, the number of young people presenting with eating disorders has increased significantly, with the demand for support services in New Zealand more than doubling since 2020. Essentially, eating disorders are serious mental health problems and can affect all sorts of people.
