St Hilda's Collegiate School

Kia ora whanau,

What a week it has been.

My week started with a stellar performance by Madrigalli Rouge, at Big SIng Cadenza which earned them a Silver award. There was an impressive and moving concert, in the Sacred Heart basilica Timaru, and it was wonderful to see students singing and performing after nearly three years.

Then there were nail biting hockey finals, with the 1st XI winning the Dunedin title, and another fabulous and informative Parents Seminar run by Marcelle Nader-Turner and Ange Rathbone. Thank you to all the parents and whanau who supported this initiative. We are indeed fortunate to have such expertise and knowledge in our school.

On to a tense rugby final with the 1st XV going down to OGHS 10-12, in a well fought and well played game. Then at their monthly meeting the PFA had a chance to reflect on the Gala dinner and what their next project might look like.

We have had a fun week with Library week - lots of activities, a special chapel, competitions and dress ups.

Looking ahead to the weekend we have basketball finals, netball final and semi finals, aerobics and many other events that showcase the busyness and purpose of our learning community.

On reflection this week has been a perfect capsule of our school life - community and connection, competition and reflection, something for everyone and the chance to celebrate all the diverse activities and interests of our students.Challenging, rewarding, fun and satisfying - this week had it all.

Ngā mihi nui

Jackie Barron
