Year 8 Camps have been a great success this term! Only one more to go, Room 4. 

Our Term 1 Parent interviews have just concluded this week with a high turnout of parents and students attending.  If you have not had an an interview and would like one, please do not hesitate to contact the teacher or the school office to organise one.

Google Docs Visual Art e-portfolios are showing what your child has been learning so far this term and numerous Blue Cards have been handed out for comments in e-portfolios, well done students and parents for taking the time to comment within your child's e-portfolio.

No water day at camp for Rooms 11 and 13  due to high toxicity levels of the algae in Lake Waihola. How did they cope with this disaster?

This week we participated in a drama workshop focusing on identity and culture. 

The best thing about the Warriors playing at Forsyth Stadium was watching the Tahuna team play DNI at half time.

Warriors and Bulldogs are obvious names which a synonymous with amazing NRL sides and this week we get to experience first hand what they are like.

Today Lima Sopoaga spent time with Rooms 16, 7 and 9 teaching us how to make a game successful by doing our best!!

Room 19 braved the wet weather in Week 7 for their camp at Tirohanga.

This term as part of their ICT programme, Year 7 students are learning binary.

We had a great morning out at Port Chalmers for the Dunedin Triathlon. Check out the photos from the day.

Playing the drums is exactly what the pupils have been doing in music.

In Week 5, Room 9 were out having a blast at Camp Waiora, completing a week of fun filled activities. Since being back in the classroom, we have looked at writing recounts, poems and language features about our time at camp.

Room 6 are practicing their hockey skills. Room 6 have hockey nearly every week this term. They have been learning some basic hockey skills.  The first two sessions were run by some hockey leaders/ students at Tahuna. Room 6 have been trapping, tackling and passing and playing very fun hockey based games. Room 6 have been enjoying the games very much and some students in our class are going to sign up to play hockey for Tahuna sports

If you ever need an architect room 7's ready to help! For the past weeks room 7 has been learning the ins and outs on maps, What to do,What to know,How to find it out, how to create a map and so much more!

Room 6 has been involved in 'Get NZ writing' which is an initiative from Warehouse Stationary. They have linked classrooms across NZ with a buddy class. Each class has been tasked to write a series of sentences exploring the use of metaphors and descriptive language.

Making an e-creature in Design Tech

Great weather, great challenges and fun activities.

This week it was Year 8 classes turn for P.E. We were lucky enough to have student coaches sharing their expertise with classes.

Today was the first trip of the year to do water testing at Tomahawk with Mr Andrew Innes.

Yr7 & Yr8 boys and girls show amazing skill on the Futsal courts.

10 students from Tahuna are participating in water testing for Tomahawk Lagoon, alongside John McGlashan, and Bayfield school. We spent the day on Wednesday week 4, learning how to test the water for PH level, oxygen, turbidity, and much more!

Our Year 8 Students have been working with sheet metal in their first unit.

Before we ventured on camp Room 12 completed a much needed course on first aid.

The Mandarin Language Assistants are Introduced to  a Kiwi Classroom 

Hi i am Nathaniel from Room 13 and this is my work that I have made in design tech it is a phone holder with a gap so you can charge it up. It was a fun task to do and it was a great 2 weeks. At first when I started to think what I was making I wondered if it would actually work but Mr Boyes said that it would and he got me motivated. It was amazing to see everybody's masterpiece. I used LED’s (light emitting diode) and they are blue,I used 2 of them and they turned out great.

Students in Year 8 have been learning the significance of the Rongo Stone statue situated on Portsmouth Drive, Dunedin.

This term the year 7's have been focusing on recount writing.
