While most students are relaxing over the holidays, Ada Silva is working harder than ever, performing in Taieri Musical's production of Frozen Jr and The Lion King Jr.

After 8 weeks of hard work we all came together to produce a spectacular pantomime performance!

We took our geometry work outside today to draw and label angles.

After months of trials, winning a regional competition, fundraising and practices we finally made it to Wellington.

Congratulations to our two Tahuna Classics teams who competed in the 2023 Dunedin Intermediate and Junior Classics Quiz.

Tahuna sent a strong team to the Chess Power Regionals.

This week Hannah Geary brought her performing arts experience back to Tahuna to help develop our pantomime.

Our students experienced VR videos filmed by New Zealand Geographic in marine environments around Aotearoa to understand our underwater environments and what threatens them.

This week we all got down and dirty while facing up to our waste problem in Rūma Ono and Tahuna.

The chess elective has taken off!

We learned about harakeke and how it's uses and the tikanga around harvesting it have clear sustainability values for our whenua (land) and the environment.

So the question is ... how do we as waste minimisation agents, reduce the waste at Tahuna and promote a more sustainable future?

This week R6 students had the chance to explore finding engineering solutions to a real world problem with Lego Education.

We're lucky to have Ms Murphy with us for the next few months.

Some very fast times were recorded on our first block run of the year.

Wednesday afternoons sees around 120 Tahuna students battling it out on the futsal court.

Excitement. Games. Glow Worms.

We look to the sky, set our goals and watch our goals flourish through care, attention and hard work.

As part of our Kaitiaki of Self unit (being guardians of ourselves) R6 students have been writing all about themselves in a really unique way.

Remember scrabble? What about the 3 Second Rule? Game of Awesome? Boggle? Story Cubes? Hedbanz? Bananagrams? We've got them all, plus loads more to support our reading and writing work in Rūma Ono.

With just over a week to go till our camp, we thought it best we brush up on our first aid skills.

This week we have been discussing and co-constructing how we learn best in maths.

The music knowledge and ability in Room 6 was a pleasant surprise to me (and our music teacher Mrs Bowen Barrett).

Room Retallick 6 students had the opportunity to visit our technology classes and get to learn what each class offers. The kids were buzzing after!
