This week we were lucky enough to have Thanasi from NZ Karate teach us the basic skills required to defend ourselves.

This week in Design Tech we have been working with White Pine. 

In Room 1, over the past few weeks, we have been learning about Matariki. We have looked at Matariki and it's significance, created a class korowai (cloak) and completed a Matariki star art piece (thank you to Mrs Whitson for helping us with this!) It looks fantastic and has brightened up our classroom.

Two Fridays ago students in the French/Japanese elective made their much-anticipated trip to the ............ Petanque Club. 

Year 7 & 8 students have been creating various designs in Term 2, a stunning show of creativity.

On Thursday the 23rd of June the Otago University Geology Outreach students came to work with Room 15.

Well done to all the Tahuna players selected for Otago squads following the recent trials. Good luck to all our Tahuna hockey players for the rest of the season. All teams have a game this last Friday of term and the season resumes on the first Friday of Term 3.

Room 12 spent some time in the science lab this week separating sand and salt using filtration and evaporation.

On Friday the 10th June we had our first Interschool Football Match. It was exciting and overall a very successful game. Our boys played as a team and were supportive towards each other's endeavours.

This term the Year 8 classes have been going down to Moana Pool every two weeks to participate in swimming lessons and different activities.

Last week Room 1 did the Blobs in a Bottle experiment (commonly know as Lava Lamps) in Chemistry. It was awesome! Below is some photos of the experiment and our findings!
