A cultural narrative recognises the historical relationship between the area and its mana whenua. It describes what is unique about the place and the people our school is part of.

Tai Tapu School is part of the Ngā Matapuna o Ngā Pākihi area, a Ngāi Tahu Papatipu Rūnanga, based at Te Pā o Moki, Taumutu. Te Taumutu is recognised as the kaitiaki of the educational institutions in the district.

The information held within our cultural narrative helps build a shared understanding of heritage, traditional and spiritual connections, and values.
