Out of School CareHukanui Marae Trips
Last week all of our classes visited Hukanui Marae. This is always a highlight of the year, and we are so fortunate to have such a strong relationship with the marae and Ngāti Wairere.
Our students heard about the incredibly rich cultural history of the marae and Ngāti Wairere.
Thank you to Matua Ted (kaumatua) for sharing his wisdom, and Whaea Ihipera (Te Ao Mārama Board Member) for hosting us, and to Whaea Sandra for coordinating this special experience, with the support from a number of our amazing staff. We are fortunate and appreciative to have such a strong partnership with our local marae and Ngāti Wairere.
What a special place for our students to be immersed in Aotearoa culture, history and authentic learning.
