Digital Technologies
We aim to integrate digital technology across the curriculum to ensure all learners become creative thinkers and creators of digital solutions.
There will be a range of digital tools on offer to enhance learning across contexts, and our learners will have to select the best tool to find the solution to authentic issues.
Our learners will develop broad technological knowledge, practices and skills that will equip them to participate confidently today and in the future. A cyber safety curriculum will also underpin this knowledge so that our learners can keep themselves safe and make smart choices while online.
Our range of tools will include Chromebooks, Ipads, Apple Pencils, Apple Macs, Green Screen and 3D Printing.
Why we believe technology is important to us
Sophisticated technologies increasingly regulate everyday life, and we are now living in a world where learning is available 24 hours a day at our own pace (ubiquitous learning). It is more important than ever that learners explore and understand digital technology. Our learners need to explore how we can utilise the use of technology to improve our lives.
Digital technology will be a part of everyone's jobs in the future, and we are living in exponential times, where 68% of learners today will enter into job types that don't exist yet. We have a responsibility to equip our learners with the skills they need for the future.
Digital Safety
Digital Safety is of paramount importance. We teach our students how to be positive digital citizens, helping them to also become more aware of, and competent in, ways to stay safe online.
This Online Safety Hub is an invaluable resource for any who are navigating the challenges of the digital world with young people. We encourage you to refer to the resources there.
