During the cold snap of the last month, the girls of the Timaru Girls’ High School First XI have been training after school on Tuesdays in preparation for the winter season.

We have many talented netball players representing us this year.

On the 18th of June two speakers and a support rōpū bussed up to Ōtautahi for the Manu Kōrero regionals

In June 2021 the Government announced that period products would be available for all female students.

Recently all our Year 10 students participated in a Rural Health Careers Promotion programme here at School.

Once again a huge thank you to the businesses who have supported us by having Gateway students for work experience this term. 24 students have been out on placement with most finishing this week.

This year the Ara Sector Day was focused on the Health, Trades, Hospitality and Hairdressing sectors. The day is aimed at exposing students to different study and career opportunities.

On the 1st June the Home Association of Timaru High School Old Girls welcomed over 30 past pupils from Dunedin, Waimate, Temuka, Pleasant Point and Timaru District to a most successful morning tea, held in the hostel dining room

This term at the hostel has been a busy one with winter sports for many of the girls. Hockey, netball, rugby and badminton!

At TGHS, we celebrated International Language week by making and enjoying crêpes in French.

Out and about in the field with Year 11 Geography.

The Year 11 History class recently went on a day trip to Dunedin to learn more about the Scottish Settlers to the Otago Region in the 1840s to 1860s.

The TGHS Library Crochet and Knitting group has joined in with the Timaru District Libraries to make squares in an attempt to make the biggest blanket fort for the Guiness Book of Records.

On the eastern side of the Hunter Hills, 32km Southwest of Timaru is the Mount Nimrod Scenic Reserve.

Throughout the 2021 rugby season, Timaru Girls' High School Under 15 rugby team have won all of their games and we're so proud of ourselves

On Thursday 10th June, two teams of Year 9 & 10s, went to Mountainview to represent Timaru Girls´ High in the 2021 Jump Jam Xtreme Competition.
