I hope that you all had a great time enjoying family over the long weekend. It is a great opportunity as we go into winter to have a refresh.
The Kahui Ako staff only day was extremely well received. Mike King was the presenter and had the over 160 staff members from our Kahui Ako schools and ECE's fully engaged with his message. Our Across Kahui Ako Lead teachers had the day well organised, which meant that people could come along and enjoy meeting and working with each other. Our own Simon Adkins and Mel Scarlett are part of this leadership team, and they have contributed greatly to the work of the Kahui Ako as a whole.
Today, we have 16 Year 5 & 6 athletes representing our school at the North West Zone Cross Country. We punch above our weight in representative events, and it is great to have the support of our parent community for all such events. We wish our athletes well.
Next week, we have a number of musicians representing our school at the Strike Strum Blow festival. We have a number of tutors who have been preparing our musicians for this event. Thanks to Whaea Mary, Whaea Ruth, and Matua Gabe for their work in this area. We will have an article to share in the next newsletter regarding this event.
Please remember to ensure your child is wearing the correct uniform. This includes appropriate footwear. As we go into the colder months, there is always an option for children to bring their slippers to wear inside. A jacket is also a good thing to have as if it is not wet, they often do go outside to have a run around and get some fresh air.
Keep warm whānau and of course,
Keep smiling
Shane
