Our school has recently featured in a series of articles in the New Zealand Education Gazette. The articles discuss the roll out of the new digital technology learning area in the NZ Curriculum. We were interviewed about the decisions we made setting up our curriculum as a foundation school, back in 2015.

Welcome to the new year at West Rolleston - we hope everyone had a great break and are refreshed and rearing to go in 2020.

Receipts are now available, you can use the Hero app if you have an android phone, if you have an iphone you will need to log into Hero using the browser on your iphone (go.linc-ed.com) this will allow you to print your receipt or email accounts@westrolleston.school.nz to request one.

WRPS, Coffee Culture Rolleston and Coffee Vice (the Friday coffee van) would like to acknowledge our latest Assembly Great Community Award Recipients: Stacy Ladbrook and Nicole Richards.

Kia ora e te whānau, in line with our school vision to grow Happy and Healthy Learners we are excited to share with you our unique Hauora / Health and Wellbeing Model! The purpose of this model is to promote positive health and wellbeing in both our school and wider community.

We have had Nerf battles with GROW, the Circus came to town and our awesome West Rolleston Primary School learners who all competed in the 2020 Weetbix TRYathlon at Jellie Park a couple of weeks ago, where each child had to swim, bike and run around the course and got rewarded with a medal for their excellent participation and dedication.

In the coming terms we have opportunity for competitive club gymnasts to enter into the Canterbury Primary Schools Gymnastics Competitions. Please email rebecclambert@westrolleston.school.nz if you would like more information about entering.

We have had cases of headlice in our school community. Please check and treat your children. If you need head lice treatment, some can be provided by the school.

Is your child transitioning into the teenage years? Learn what is happening through adolescence.

If you would like to coach a sport at school please see Bec Lambert or Fraser Malins. We would love your help! A notice has come home with Year 5-8 students in regards to coaching or managing our Year 5-8 Winter Sports and Zones opportunities so please look out for that.
