On Thursday 30th and Friday 31st May we hosted Opunake High School on our annual two-day exchange.

The first round of Learning Conferences for the year will take place in week seven on Wednesday 12th June. All students, accompanied by at least one of their caregivers, are required to attend a 30-minute conference to receive and discuss their Term Two Report with their Academic Coach.

On Friday, 31st May, the PPTA formally advised us that their members would not be available to teach or supervise year nine students on Tuesday (June 4). As almost all of our teachers are members of the PPTA, I need to ask that all year nines be kept away from school next Tuesday.

When Jacob finishes he will be the fourth qualified in-store butcher.

The students have all received their individual codes to order their school photos from their House Group teachers.

On Thursday 23rd May, the 9GH and 10HK whanau homeroom students and staff headed to Paranui Marae to learn about tikanga.

Troy received the badge for gaining three first places representing the Horowhenua Special Olympics Youth Swim team competing in Whanganui against the Whanganui and Manawatu Special Olympics Youth Teams recently.

On Friday 17th May, our students wore their pink to school with pride to take a stand against bullying and to reinforce the message that BULLYING IS NOT OK AT MANAWATU COLLEGE!

On Thursday 16th May, students from the junior and senior Dance and Music classes put on a performance evening to showcase their talents.

Held at the CET Arena, Palmerston North, the expo featured 75 exhibiting companies, tertiary education and training organisations, who provided information to the students about the wide range of career and study opportunities available in our region.

On Wednesday 15th May, Manawatu College hosted the annual Manawatu Inter-Secondary Schools Cross Country competition on our Cross Country Track.

Your Education is a specialised education agency that brings exchange students from ten countries around the world to experience life and high school in New Zealand.

The event is a long-running regional motocross championship for all classes – Senior, Junior and Mini, raced over the one day on Sunday 12th May.

'Attitude' is a group of young people who travel New Zealand speaking in schools to creatively teach life skills that will assist teenagers to make life-enhancing choices.

On Wednesday 8th May the annual Cross Country run took place over the ITM forest.

The national competition took place at the Taikorea Motocross Park in Glen Oroua, on Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th April.
