As we approach the upcoming exam season, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work and dedication our Year 11, 12, and 13 students have shown throughout the year. This is a crucial time and it's lovely to see so many students committed to their studies. With exams just around the corner, preparation is key and the efforts you put in now will undoubtedly pay off. Remember that steady, consistent study is the most effective approach; setting realistic goals and taking regular breaks will help you maintain focus and manage stress.

We are pleased to announce that students will have the opportunity to go on study leave starting Thursday 31st October, provided their teachers have signed them out of their subjects. This means students must have completed all internal assessments and demonstrated adequate preparation for any upcoming external exams. If a student has not been signed out, they must be at school and continue attending classes. We encourage students to use this study leave time wisely, dedicating it to reviewing key concepts, practising past papers and seeking extra help from teachers.

I am also excited to share the selection of the 2025 Kaiārahi / Prefect Leadership Team. The success of the projects undertaken by this year's Kaiārahi team has significantly lifted the "Mana" of holding one of these prestigious positions within the school. Their contributions have not only enriched the school environment, but also inspired many students to apply, resulting in a highly competitive selection process with an outstanding range of applicants demonstrating admirable qualities. To those who missed out, I encourage you to continue showing growth in leadership, both within the school and in our wider community. Congratulations to the selected team:

Finally, I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Madison Wayne, who has been selected to attend the Otago University Summer Science Academy in 2025.

We wish all our students the best of luck with their studies and upcoming exams. Stay focused, stay positive and remember that your teachers are here to support you every step of the way.
