This annual event is a highlight in the school calendar and involves all students from Years 0 -13. Held annually at the Caledonian Sports Ground, Columba College has our Sports (Athletics) Day scheduled for Monday, 27th February 2023. This event is weather dependent.

The Otago Athletics Champs were held at the Caledonian recently and Columba College had a number of athletes competing for their clubs, attracting spectator attention across a number of track and field events. Results from these champs, as well as recent athletic official meets, highlight the success of our students in this fantastic summer sport.

This week, as part of our Junior School assembly, we were pleased to present the new Year 6 leaders with their badges. These were presented to the students by Grace Darling, our Junior School prefect.

It is a privilege for Columba College to have amazing netball coaches within our school community with a collective wealth of knowledge, experience, and coaching skill. Two of our coaches received special awards at the Dunedin Netball Centre AGM this week, and Columba College is extremely fortunate to have these fabulous coaches volunteering their time and energy to our netball programme.

Last weekend, the Makos South Island Junior Swim Championships were held at Moana Pool. There were 125 competitors from all over the South Island. Columba College had four swimmers racing during the weekend.

On Thursday the 16th of February, seven senior students participated in the Challenge Wanaka Secondary Schools Triathlon held at Glendhu Bay. It was a great success with everyone pushing themselves to the limit in the Central heat.

Originally on the calendar for April 6th, we have opted to push this back towards the end of the year in anticipation of warmer weather.

Our annual Attitude Presentations give students time to think about navigating life's big issues.

Prefects will be holding a sausage sizzle at Athletics Day.

The Columba College Parents' Association is a group of parents who fundraise for projects and equipment within our school community for all students Year 0-13.
