Kia Ora everyone, I hope you're all well!

In maths we are adding and subtracting fractions, that is also what we are doing for homework. If your child (or you) doesn't quite get it please get them to come and tell me, 5 minutes at lunchtime one on one can speed things up A LOT!!!

In reading we are well and truly off and running with our novel studies. Please remind your children that it is very important to keep up to date with their reading as well as the progress notes and review questions. This can definitely be worked on at home for homework if your child is a bit behind for any reason.

In writing we are exploring persuasive writing techniques...this will lead into our speech writing which is coming soon.

Any problems or questions please let me know. Great to see most of you at parent/teacher chats last week....if you'd like to catch up because you couldn't last week please let me know.

Andrew

In Room 2, we have been learning A LOT!

We have been super busy learning about The Olympics, working on our art skills, working very hard on our basic facts and starting to write some awesome persuasive writing pieces. I have been very proud of how well each and every one of them have settled so well back into our classroom routines, and giving their best!

In writing, we have been working very hard on learning how to give our own opinion and give a reason to why we think that. In maths, we have been challenging our minds as we have been learning about fractions, decimals and adding 5 digit numbers together! In reading, we have been working on stating an opinion about a character's traits, the setting, plot, theme, and moral of the story. We have started reading a new novel called “ Danny the champion of the world” and are loving it so far!

Have a warm and fabulous weekend! ~ Isi
