New Zealand ShakeOut
Julie Greenwood - October 6, 2022
Schools and workplaces have an obligation to be prepared for an emergency. In most cases we can’t predict when an emergency will happen. But we can make plans to be prepared in the case of an emergency.
At school we have regular drills to help us prepare for emergencies.
Having been at school during many of the Christchurch earthquakes we understand the importance of being prepared. These include emergency food and water, systems for ensuring we know who is onsite during the day, and for releasing students to caregivers in an emergency.
How you can help us:
- ensure we always have your latest contact details and that your emergency contact is correct
- provide food for our emergency boxes
- always sign your child in or out during the day using Vis Tab
- ensuring school has any vital medication supplies
- sign up to Skool loop or our FaceBook page
- check your emails or Skool Loop for up to date information in an emergency rather than calling the school
- have a plan in place with your family for emergency situations
- check out Get Ready website to help plan for emergencies
