There is a creative energy buzzing away at Heaton. We are full steam ahead preparing for our school production ‘Super Stan’ to be presented later this term.

One of our Year 8 students, Mehakpreet, has had three items published in the Write On Magazine and School Journal.

A group of students from many cultures come along to the ESOL room every Wednesday at lunchtime to learn about another language. At our school students come from many different cultures, including Indonesia, China, Korea, Japan and India, to name a few. Mrs Mundy oversees the group, while the students themselves plan and teach the lessons.

Speaking 4 the Planet (S4P) is a public speaking, spoken word, performance and visual arts competition. It provides opportunities for students to express their ideas for a better world. Thomas Rm 6 and Monae Rm 5 recount the day.

Our Heaton Gymnasts competed at the Canterbury Primary Schools Artistic Gymnastic Competition on Wednesday 14th June at the Christchurch School of Gymnastics and had some superb results!

On Wednesday 21st June, 35 of our finest runners attended the Primary and CAIMS Canterbury Cross Country Champs at Ngā Puna Wai.
