Kia ora koutou. We are already over half way through Term 3, with very little of the academic year remaining.

One of the fundamental organisational mechanisms in a secondary school is its timetable. We use a timetable to structure the school day and week, to organise curriculum in a logical and balanced way, to schedule teaching and learning time fairly and predictably, to allocate specialist teaching space, and more. A well-organised timetable is the stage on which amazing things can happen in a school.

The long wait was finally over! After two years of postponement due to covid restrictions, the 2022 Cantamath Team Competition was held on the 24th of August at the Christchurch Arena.

On the 8th - 12th of August, New Zealand celebrated Maths Week 2022. At Hornby High School, we celebrated Maths Week, a week of fun, creativity and challenges.

Hornby High School entered two teams in the CAIM's Volleyball Tournament held on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 August.

Our Year 7/8 students had a great time down at Hagley Park at the CAIM's Football Tournament.

Our hockey team really enjoyed their recent CAIM's tournament and improved a lot over the 2 days.

We have two Year 7/8 basketball teams entered in the Gators Friday night competition - the Gold Team and the Blue Team.
