Hornby High School We Did It!! Mana Horomaka!!! #1 High School in the South Island raising the most amount of money for Red Nose Day!

Hornby High School students hit the exam trail, a few nerves, a bit of stress and the challenge and excitement of being successful was the order of the day.

Jared T and Charles R were selected across all students in Year 13 to represent our school at the Model European Union held at Canterbury University over two days.

A few of our students have been brave enough to step forward and join a pre-recruitment lifeguard course.

We had the New Zealand Defence Force come and visit our school this term.

A small group of students who have their restricted licences are completing a Defensive Driving Course.

Our Filipino Youth Group has been busy in term 3 with a variety of activities.

Mere Rang was organised by the Hornby High School Indian and Indo-Fijian Group.

Thanks to the generosity of Southern Woods Nursery, students from our client school Templeton Primary and our own Year 9 students have been able to create Tree Houses in Design Technology.

Last week we held a sausage sizzle fundraiser to help raise money for Koru Care who are sending 3 of our students to Disneyland! Thank you everybody, once again our students and community have stepped up to help!

We are still in need of people to support our tamariki by assisting them with the reading and writing of exams. Applicants need to be competent in spelling and reading comprehension. In addition to the listed requirements, applicants need to be proficient in the typing of exams on a computer keyboard. We are especially seeking helpers anytime during November with 10th November being the most important. Only the end of year exams are paid positions.
