Talofa lava. The school has enjoyed some events to celebrate Samoan Language Week and proudly flew the Samoan flag from the flagpole in the Quad.

Dominic Fortes has continued his diving success at the South Island Championships last weekend, being awarded the Canterbury Cup for the Open Men’s 3m Springboard. He also gained a Silver Medal in the 3m Synchro.

Congratulations to our King's students who competed in the Otago Swimming Champs last weekend. There were some outstanding results, see below.

Last month, a group of Spanish teachers from around Southland ran an immersion Spanish Camp in the Catlins for all students of Spanish.

There are no ‘bad’ emotions. Feeling both positive and negative emotions is a natural part of being human.

In week three of Term 2, six students and two teachers from King’s High School’s Enviro Club undertook a Litter Intelligence Training Course. Thomas Bowen, Kane Chang, Samuel Dorne-Cumming, Cam Fraser, Jimi Higgins and Ashwin Rajesh all went along, with Mr McPherson and Mr Bleckinger also participating.

Formal permission forms and information has been handed out to all the Year 12 and Year 13 students who signed up for this year's school formal. Forms and money (see below for details) need to be handed into the office by Wednesday 9th June.

A reminder of tertiary events and key dates.

Rob & Zareen are a husband and wife film making team with four children between them. While navigating the pros and cons of handheld devices in the current digital climate, they decided to start making documentaries and providing resources after discovering what children are accessing.

The Government has announced a new Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund (TTAF) that supports anyone* to study/train for high-demand industries as New Zealand recovers from Covid-19.
