On Wednesday 27 September we celebrated our cultural prizewinners and watched some of our talented students perform.

As part of our work on Te Tātoru o Wairau project we will have a kōhatu mauri; a stone to maintain a life force, where the students can put into it their positive intentions for our new schools.

Arlie Bates submitted her Korowai to the Ringa Toi Exhibition that showcases the artwork of secondary school students, with a focus on Toi Māori. Arlie was successful and her korowai will be displayed at Te Papa, from the 28 September to 9 October.

Lily Pontague, Erin Green and Paige Horne were part of the New Zealand contingent of speed skaters at the Oceania Championships in Timaru. Some of the countries participating were New Zealand, Australia, Great Britain, China and Iran. Our MGC students came away with thirteen medals in total, you did yourselves, NZ and MGC proud.
