Nau mai, hoki mai ki te kura. Welcome back to school for Term 3, and a huge welcome to our new students and families. We hope you enjoy being part of the Milford School community! We have a dynamic and exciting term ahead, with the major events being our junior and senior school productions in Week 7. It has been wonderful listening to the students talking about their holidays, time spent with family and friends, trying new things, having fun and recharging for the term ahead.

We are all excited about performing our Senior School Production of ‘Sucked In’ in week 7 of this term. As you can imagine rehearsals for both the cast and the class performances are well underway.

We will be having a pie day this term to fundraise for the 2022 Year 6 Camp, and would love your support. Pies can be ordered through your myKindo account.

Last term one of our Year 5 & 6 table tennis teams, 'Milford Carrots', won their grade and a top player award was also given to Martin Ang in the team. Congratulations to William Chen, Martin Ang, Felix Lu and Ethan Cui for your teamwork, commitment and excellent sportsmanship each week at the matches. We're looking forward to seeing how the term 3 league goes for you!

During the school holidays, Aly won a gold medal in the Judo Auckland international competition, Junior boys under 36kgs.

Congratulations Alayna! Alayna made the Regional Gymnastics Team to represent North Harbour, made up of the top 4 girls from North Harbour based on their competition scores during the year, to compete in the New Zealand Gymnastic Championships, which was held at the Trust Arena in Waitakere. This was her first ever National Competition.

Catalogues were sent home this week, BUT if you didn’t get one, don’t despair! Please check with your classroom teacher or the office to get your copy. Orders need to be placed by 12pm, Tuesday 10 August.

We received the above certificate in recognition of our fundraising efforts for the recent Pink Shirt Day we held in Term 2.

Parent Information Evening - Tuesday 10 August 7 - 8pm in the School Auditorium.

We will be holding a ballot for out of zone students in October this year, for entry to school in 2022. This ballot includes out of zone siblings of students already attending Milford School. The final day to get a ballot application into school is Tuesday 21 September. The ballot will be drawn by our Police Education Officer on Wednesday 20 October.

Well done to all the students taking specialist musical instrument classes here at school. Learning an instrument is a very special skill, which offers many benefits in other areas of a student's overall development.

Classes will be held at St Paul's Anglican Church on Mondays from 3:15 to 4:45pm. Students registered will gather outside Room 14 by 3pm where our teachers will take them to the church for the classes. Parents will pick them up from the church after their session. See link below to enrol.

Come along and enjoy a fun afternoon on Saturday 7 August, from 2-4pm. This is a fundraising event for the North Shore Community Library.
