Eight hardy and knowledgeable students from the Mt Pleasant School Lit Quiz Group spent a challenging morning at Cobham Intermediate on Wednesday the 14th March.

Team Rock Solid are concluding their Unit Of Inquiry "Who We Are" by examining the brain. Through the key concept lenses of Function and Connection, discussions have been based around what the brain is made of, how it works and how this impacts on the person we are/ want to be.

"A man paints with his brains and not with his hands." ~ Michelangelo. TRS got a glimpse into what a brain really looks like this week. Billions of neurons & synapses strung together defining who we are...or who the goat was in this case.

I think everyone enjoyed tabloids! From the seniors running it, to the new entrance kids that were doing it for their first time.

What a Magnificent Multisport Event on we had on Thursday!!!! Students were Principled: competing fairly & honestly. Students were Caring: looking out for each other when things didn't go to plan. And of course, Students were Risk-takers: with everyone giving multi-sport a go! We were so proud of you! And of course, a big thank you to all the amazing parent-helpers, who were all the above & more...we couldn't have done this without you!

Last Friday we sent a formidable team of 34 swimmers to the SE Zone Swimming Champs, which were held at the under-construction Jellie Park.

Are you a singer or an instrumentalist? Are you reasonably good at it…or even better?

For a number of years I have worked with some enthusiastic children creating and caring for our native garden, planting, nurturing and eating vegetables and making our school a great place to be. As I no longer work full time I would love to be able to hand over my role to a group of parents or other keen people in the Mt Pleasant community.

We have recently completed our first two consultations for our schools build project. We had one night with our Parent and Caregiver Community, and the second with our Teachers and Staff. Both nights were really well attended and we have received some really good feedback in both volume and quality.

These items are still unclaimed and are feeling unloved. If these are yours please rescue them from the shared space outside rooms 6 & 7.

Mt Pleasant Oscar will be running on the Teacher Only Day - Friday 1 June 8.30-5.30. We will be staying onsite, baking, doing craft projects, competitions, watching a movie and doing the optional pizza lunch - $41 till 3pm and $45 till 5.30 pm.

From Term 2 Sydenham Bakery will no longer be taking part in lunch online. Pita Pit Ferrymead will be available Wednesday AND Friday from now on.
