Kōkohu Kai - another Nayland Food Collective initiative

Stuff reporter Martin De Ruyter visited Nayland College earlier in the week to meet the staff and students involved in Kōkohu Kai. A huge thank you to local producers and suppliers who have donated products and to staff who purchased a Kōkohu Kai bag. All funds raised go towards supporting Pūaha Te Tai performing at the Kapa Haka Regionals this afternoon!

Celebrating Performing Arts in 2020

Although the events of 2020 may have interrupted many scheduled performance opportunities, students at Nayland College have continued to shine and excel within dance, drama, music and kapa haka. Our Arts Awards on Thursday night celebrated our top achievers and performers as well as those who have served and contributed in a variety of ways behind the scenes. Well done to everyone!

Congratulations to Renz Alvez, Liv Tregidga and Shaun Chalmers-Banks of ATTYR who won the 'Connect and Collaborate Award' at the Young Enterprise Scheme Regional Finals last Thursday night. It was not just their sandals made from recycled tyres that impressed the judges, but also the way they have conducted their business.

Winter sport comes to a fantastic finish for Nayland teams

The Nayland College Senior Girls Basketball team capped off a fantastic undefeated season by beating Waimea A 38-35 in the final. Our Senior Boys Basketball team came second in the Men’s B Grade after a loss to the Stoke Raiders in the final. And for the first time, our Girls Rugby Team made it through to the final, losing to Motueka in a closely fought match.

Year 13 student business studies student Renz Alvez is on track towards a bright future in business after his recent 2nd place in the Entrepreneurs in Action event held in Wellington last month. Renz was one of 80 students who were chosen from 4000 nationwide to compete in the event.
