A recent survey shows parents' opinion and guidance is valued by young people planning for their future.

Gateway Gateway is a school-based, government-funded programme for Year 13 students. The key objective is to provide opportunities for senior students to participate in work-based learning with an employer and to gain industry and NCEA qualifications. It is all about students investigating and developing their skills while still at school and to make learning relevant to ensure a smooth transition from school to further tertiary training and work. Students wishing to participate have to commit to:  Going to work for 10 days or 80 hours , Completing Industry based Unit Standards and catching up on missed school work. 

 Year 13 History quiz team of Marie Dunn, Briar McBurney, Kelsey Mee and Isabelle Jenkins came 3rd overall in the Dunedin Secondary Schools' History Quiz held recently (17 August) at the University. 

​ Next Tuesday,  8 September at lunchtime in the Otago Girls' High School Gym our Pasifika Polyfest Group will perform their programme for this year's Otago Polyfest Festival. Come along and support our Pasifika students.

​This year's Otago Secondary Schools' Music Festival, Bach to the Future is free. Yes No.46 is FREE, GO WILD. Get along, support your school and enjoy an evening of Music making at the Dunedin Town Hall on Monday  7  September, doors open at 6.00pm.

Each year the Otago Girls’ High School Sports' Council makes grants to those athletes who have achieved the necessary standards for a high performance grant. In April the Council awarded grants to eight students who had achieved New Zealand  and South Island representation. The closing date for the next round of grants is September 30. Application forms for these grants can be found outside the student office. Grants depend on the athlete reaching an acceptable standard of performance and the amount of money available. When application forms are completed they should be handed in to Mr Murley.
