On Wednesday 16 March, Otago Girls' High School held its annual Swimming Sports day at Moana Pool. The stands were full of excited and eager pupils, resplendent in house colours, ready to kick the day off to an epic start. 

We cordially invite you to the official opening of Te Toi Aweawe, The Cartwright Arts Centre, to be held at Otago Girls' High School on Friday 15 April at 2:15pm.

As we move towards the end of the term we have a very hectic schedule for the remaining weeks.

Basketball Otago is proud to continue to offer Morning Academy. This skill development programme is geared towards Otago Representative Players, Secondary School Junior and Senior A Players, and players who are very close to making their Age Representative Squads (Under 15-Under 19).

During I D Fashion week the Year 12 / 13 Textiles Technology class were able to include two excursions into their studies.

Congratulations to the following students who have gained a place on the Spirit of Adventure this year:

As part of our assessment of the literacy needs of our students, all girls in Year 9 and Year 10 have undergone diagnostic assessment of their reading, writing and comprehension skills this term, in their English classes. As a result of this a number of students have been invited to be involved with our literacy support programme next term.

Whether you are a like a fish in water or a fish out of water, swimming sports is still the place for you. A couple of weeks ago we had our annual swimming sports where all the top swimmers showed us what they are made of. 

An Arts council is being formed at Otago Girls' High School, which will encompass the Visual and Performing Arts. The aim of the Arts Council is to promote and financially support the pursuit of excellence in the Arts at Otago Girls' . We are seeking Parent Representatives to join the Council. We envisage two positions being available for parents. If you have an interest in the Arts we would love to hear from you.
